I always get so wound up about who and what I'm getting items for, this video was a good reminder to stop and think about what the true spirit of the season is............(and it's not a new IPOD Touch).

I am so grateful He was born this season and gave his life to atone for all of our sins.  May God bless each of you today and always.  Merry Christmas!

Greg & Ryan drove for 7 straight hours to get to the Beavers-Ducks game last night.  They wanted to be the first line line at the ESPN tent so they could be on national television.  They made signs saying "OS Who?????".  Well, they arrived and found a place to park at 11 p.m. (while calling me every 10 minutes to ask a question).  Then....they went and stood in line, which wasn't supposed to form until 4:30 a.m. this morning.  Greg called at 2 a.m. and said he couldn't do it anymore......Ryan asked if they could leave because the language and events were way too inappropriate.  Proud of Ryan for seeing that he was in not such a good place at not such a good time.  He made a very grown up decision...despite all the work that went into traveling & signs so they could be on ESPN's College Game Day at 6 a.m. today.  So....they had an adventure and slept in the car after hiking the mile to get back.  They are now up and running around OSU.  Again....they have called 25 times to keep me informed, ask questions and see if I could call this person or that person because they wanted to know how to get somewhere.  It is clear - they don't understand that when the house is empty with just Gen and I..............it's time to sleep!  Gen ate cookies for breakfast.  I had a diet soda.  Sometimes girls need their times too!  Boys just don't understand this I guess!!!!!

The Beaver/Duck drama begins in 2 hours...maybe they won't call during the big game!  I believe Greg is still trying to talk Matt into going with them.  The last I checked, Matt was still asleep in his dorm room and not interested in all this football  craze.

Tomorrow Gen will perform twice at the Community Christmas program.  She has been practicing her little heart out.  Can't wait to see it!

Was up at 3. a.m. with Alex getting him ready for his first wrestling tournament.   He had to be at the school by 4:30 - but he was nervous about everything!  He was ready to go by like 3:20...then just sat on the couch and talked to me.  I already had his lunch and snack bag ready for him....so there wasn't much to "getting ready".  He is the Varsity Wrestler at 135.  It is snowing very hard here.....so I decided not to make the drive to John Day.  It is a single elimination tournament.  I was just a little too worried I am not a good match for the snow and ice that I would meet up with as I went over the pass to John Day....especially at 8 p.m. tonight once the meet gets over (not to mention driving there - the meet started at 10 a.m.!).  So....it is just Gen and I for the day.  We are going to wrap presents and create our Smith Family Newsletter.  We are also going to finish cutting up the Smith Famous Fudge that everyone is getting from our family.

Root Beer opened her eyes today.  Gen is so excited!  She is convinced her Daddy will change his mind and let us keep the little rascal.

Well, I'm off to start wrapping presents........or I just might go back to bed.  Ahhhhhhhhhh, a Saturday to rest!
