Hi from Sao Paulo!!
Things here are great. I hope all is well there. I also hope you got the letter they sent saying not to use any private companies to mail things because the CTM can’t accept them. Also customs can be a couple hundred dollars to pick up privately shipped packages. US mail is the only way to really get things down here.
I hope everyone there is doing great! The food here is pretty good. Today is my first P-day and they let missionaries go out on the street on P-days. When we go, I will get to proselyte. I’m way excited to go wander the streets! The people here are so awesome!!
About my trip here…I got on the plane like an hour after I talked to you guys on the phone. There was this lady who had (no joke) 3 kids under the age of 3 and 6 carryon bags. So the flight crew is trying to make her get rid of some bags, but they are her kids backpacks and such. So I went and told them I would help her because I had a layover. She needed help and I figured I could at least get her bags of the plane. So they let her on, then we got her settled and such then like half way through the boarding, the flight attendant came up to me and told me “the lady up there says she knows you personally and you are a family friend and you’re going to take her bags off the plane”. Which wasn’t exactly 100% true, but I figured we could have met in the premortal life or something……..so I said I would take her bags and that I know her. So when the plane lands, I’m carrying like 5 bags plus my 30 lbs back pack full of books. So I dropped the bags off where she can be helped by airport workers (because I have to go catch my flight) and she stops and asks me why I’m so “dressed up”. (because I had the suit and tie and black name tag and such) I told her that I’m a missionary. She thanked me for all of my help and such and states how important her family is to her. It was at this point that I remembered what I have in my front pocket……A FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER PASS ALONG CARD!!!! I gave her the card, wrote my testimony on the back, and told her if she wanted to learn more to call the number on the back. She said she would. Oh man it was crazy!
I hope you are all doing well. I pray for you guys. I hope you do the same for me. I know they help! Ask everyone you know to pray for the missionaries! I hope to get updates from you next week! Tell everyone I said hi and that if they want, you can forward my emails! Send them on to everyone in the branch! (Edit them first please.) Put them on Facebook! I want the world to know I serve the Lord! Please take care of yourselves. Remember to always walk in righteousness and the Lord will bless you. I know this to be true. Pray often. Read the scriptures. I love you all. Keep me updated on what’s going on back home.
