We've spent the day getting the rest of the items needed for Grants mission (& Brazil Visa). Such an exciting time for him! I thought he was going to shed tears when he saw the car sign that reads "Big Brother on a Mission" that Genevieve picked out for my Suburban window. He didn't cry though.....but smiled and said, “Who bought this?”. Truth be told, it made me a little teary!
Had a great talk with Tina Palmer yesterday; they are beginning all of the preparations for Spencer also. For all of those who hold a recommend, please join us on the 16th at the Columbia River Temple! Feel free to give me a call so that you can be placed on the session list.
We will miss the Clevelands presence as we go through the temple with Grant. As you may know, Brother Cleaveland was diagnosed with Alzheimer's approx. 2 years ago and is unable to travel. We talk with them frequently, and they know Grant is going to Brazil. As an aside, Betty would like everyone to know that Bob was up-beat about his diagnosis. He wanted everyone to know that he loved serving his missions, loved his family dearly, and had a loving, precious spouse for all these years. While he was not happy to learn of the diagnosis, he knew that "enduring to the end" meant being grateful for all of the love and happiness he had experienced prior to the illness. He was especially grateful for all of the family that surrounds him during this time. Betty reports that the disease has progressed quickly, but is happy that she is able to care for him in their home. Their children/grandchildren are of great assistance as she teaches seminary & goes to work a couple of days each week. We are so lucky to have Bob & Betty in our lives! All of our love and best wishes go out to them.
