Genevieve & her friend Max Mahon set up a Lemonade Stand in the front yard and sold their product for a quarter a cup. Bottled water (with flavor) was 50 cents. There was an incentive for her customers; free toys! (Good thing those sunglasses that cost me $15.00 were in the pile of "freebies"......I was beginning to think she hadn't put those things to good use!). Kids are so funny & sweet. They made $6.00. "Only $93.00 more dollars to go until I can get that Lego toy at Wal-Mart," said Max. Genevieve reminded him, "You mean $96.00 more dollars, half that $6.00 is mine!”
Small business ownership & seven-year olds…..gotta love it. Thanks to all of you who came by and bought some lemonade!
We had another great Family Home Evening last night with several families. We had a really nice lesson (Greg always puts so much into these, our family is so blessed by his preparation & love) and our guests brought chocolate cream pie & peach pizza. The kids, after much splashing of the adults with their swimming frenzy, sat around the camp fire and roasted smores & hotdogs (yes…the roasting was in that order). We had a blast. At the end of the evening, we received a text from Mike & Amy; it’s official Kable is staying with them! What awesome news to finish the evening! The Blauer’s are such a wonderful couple, and I can’t wait to meet their tiny, new son. Misty and I are having a baby shower for their family on Tuesday, July 27th at 7:00 pm – Heppner City Park. Please come and support this great little family! Many, many prayers were answered in the form of a tiny, sweet little baby boy.
Matt & Kayla spent last Friday with us. They swam, ate sugar cookies & played games. It’s hard to believe it’s time for them to both leave for college. Kayla will be moving to Pendleton the first week in August and begins volleyball practice 3 times daily. Greg & I take Matt to START at OSU on August 23rd & 24th. His dorm room is available to move into on September 19th. Time really does fly doesn’t it?
We are off to Ryan’s wrestling camp next week. Should be a lot of fun to see how much his wrestling ability has changed since last years camp. Alex is still working away at Camp Cowles. Grant did not write this week…..boy is he in trouble. His Dad wrote, “We are like chickens waiting to be fed….hurry up and write!” You would have to see how Greg is with his chickens to get this inside joke. Grant will definitely laugh…….my-oh-my how his Dad loves those chickens!
