Completing the final steps to turn-in paperwork for a new missionary in our home....exciting! It has been a very busy school year for all our kids. Grant is taking a heavy course load at BYU while working part time. Matt is finishing up his third year at OSU. Not sure where he will be working this summer (hopefully close by!). Alex decided that he would spend the last year preparing for the district championship, and thus State, wrestling tournaments. So proud of his efforts and determination! Many people thought (and occasionally made comments) about the number of camps he was attending all year. He decided to quit football so that he could completely focus on wrestling (which also drew comments). When folks would see him out on the back roads of Heppner running 7-8 miles a day in the frigid weather, they would tell him he was crazy. What a lesson our son has learned. What character has been built in this last year because of his shear determination! So proud of how hard he worked to accomplish a goal. Congrats to Alex on his "District Champion" title and subsequent 4th place finish at State. You earned it kid!
Ryan is busy being Ryan. He recovered from his broken arm and related surgeries. He finished the wrestling season with a bang at districts. He has made a resolution to attend more wrestling camps (like his brother) so that he too can be a State Champion by his senior year. We'll be there rooting for him all the way! It's such a neat moment when you watch your kids make the decision to start making investments in themselves. You just watch them grow from there!
Genevieve is excelling in piano and has recently joined 4-H to learn cooking , sewing & photography. She made her Daddy a purple pillow last week. How neat is that? Purple will look quite nice in his office at the State Capitol! She is doing awesome in school, and the teachers all report that if they "had a class full of Genevieve's, it would make their life heaven". She doesn't exactly show that side of her when I demand she get her room cleaned up, but hey, you can't have it all (right?). Sure love that little girl.
How are Greg and I you might ask? We are working and doing our best to keep up with kids! With each moment, day and year that passes, I fall in love with that man more & more. So lucky to have him leading our family.
Life is good; treasuring every moment I have with this family I love so much.
