Decked out in his best suit & tie, Ryan approached a business about being a sponsor for his trip to nationals. So cute, I just wanted to squeeze his little, freckled cheeks! Ok folks, NO ONE is allowed to tell him I said that. He received his first $100; and boy was he proud! He is well on his way to earning those entry fees. He has two more appointments tomorrow, and then he will need to raise the rest of the funds through good 'ole hard work. So....if you need your lawn mowed....Ryan Smith is the man to call!
Speaking of hard work; Gen is at it again. She is attempting to learn French and is making cloth sleeves for hot cups (like the kind they sell at Starbucks for your hot chocolate). She is taking sewing and has decided she can make a business of it. She picked up a book at the library sale titled "How to Sell Your Crafts". She now has a list of items you can purchase from her; everything from bookmarks to these sleeves. Does she remind me of someone? Oh yes. I've seen that determined look in someone else's eye.
12 more senior days for Alex....do you think we'll survive? Heppner High School has a serious case of "senioritis" plaguing their hallways. He seems really excited (nervous?) to be done with his high school career and off to BYU for awhile until his mission arrives. Grant will have a roomie...how do you think that will go? I'm guessing there might be a little tension, but in 20 years, they'll look back and think "man, that was a really great time in our lives". Grant was just complaining this last weekend that it's hard to "cook for one". Hey, now he can cook for two! Depending on Alex's mission call, he might be there several months. Should give him a great taste of college by going for the summer term...I'm excited for him! I have been visiting the Bend, Salem & other wards, and they announce mission calls during sacrament. Many report to the MTC in late August & September right now. That will give Alex time to get a full term under his belt!
We are all meeting up in Burns for Nick & Heather's baptism this weekend. So excited for them!!!!!! Gen will be doing the baptism talk, another task she is hard at work completing. Grant will be there Friday evening. Alex and I will be zooming there after he finishes his SAT on Saturday. Grandpa & Grandma will be bringing their trailer and doing a little camping. Greg will come back from Salem tomorrow, grab Gen & Ryan and will take them camping for the night. Life is good. Life is busy!
