HES Field Day was today. Genevieve had a great time! The other picture was sent to me by one of Matt's friends. Mr. Cool wasn't a bit scared on the Tremors ride at Silverwood!
Today's story:
Ryan was unable to attend Field Day because we had a "Grant" episode. For those of you who do not remember Grant at the tender age of 12 - I'll educate you. He was the master at doing a huge book report or assignment the night before it was due. Ryan, as it has been proven today, is not the master. He "forgot" about a major assignment that was due today. He stayed up late, but fell asleep at the computer. I wouldn't let him go to school, and thus, the field day, until I saw a good improvement in the completion of the project. Finally, good 'ole Mrs. Allen called (due to an early morning conversation with me) and she said, "Bring him on in, I would like to talk to him". So, off to school Ryan and I went. He stayed inside with Mrs. Allen while the kids completed their field day. The worst part was not that Ryan missed field day - - - but he totally liked having me sit in class with him! What's going on here?????? Me sitting in class has always been a punishment to the elder Smith boys! Ryan liked it, he actually hugged me goodbye when I left.....then found me at lunch and sat by me (and brought his friends along to sit with me also) Hum............this kid is going to make me work for this!
With Grant & Alex, all I had to do was step foot into their classroom and they swore of the act of missing deadlines. Alex turns bright red, and Grant always acted like I was some strange, alien-like creature who had decided to invade the classroom.
